Gianni Mininni - Website Background

I'm Gianni Mininni. I live in California, where I make art.

As a kid in Milan, I turned our kitchen door into an art piece—gluing objects onto it, painting it gold… my first real composition! My mother wasn't so happy, but I loved it. At the same time, I was playing soccer barefoot in the streets with a flat stone instead of a ball, learning precision the hard way.

My father, a classically trained painter from Brera's Accademia Cimabue, hoped I would follow his path—or his footsteps on the soccer field. But I had my own vision, creating art from found objects, beach treasures, and iron. After years in luxury advertising, I finally dedicated myself fully to art. As Picasso said, “Anyone can draw, paint or sculpt but, an artist… sells it!”

In my work, I have one great ally: Mother Nature. She shapes my materials through endless cycles of transformation—stones and shells sculpted by water and wind, driftwood with its unpredictable forms, weathered cords that tell stories of time. I collect these treasures and assemble them into compositions, continuing nature's work in my own way.

In Sardinia's Emerald Coast, I found the perfect audience for my work—and something even better—Jessica ♥️, the love of my life. We moved to the U.S., where I pushed my art further, creating freestanding compositions, furniture, and large-scale pieces.

I hope you enjoy my work. I invite you to explore my full story with some collections from the past.
